Matthew is all Smiles

July 23, 2009

It was a pleasure meeting the Butch family last week.  Matthew is an adorable boy all full of smiles.

I was amazed at how easily he warmed up to me.

I often photograph babies and think ~ what do you think they are thinking?  - this big lens pointed that them.  Some crazy lady smiling at them.  What do you think Matthew is thinking here?  What an angel!

I also love watching the interaction between the Mom and Dad.  These next few images capture some of their endearing moments.

And finally here are some images of the whole family.  It was amazing that we did so much and still had some smiles!

This last one looks like a Matthew sandwich!

I look so forward to watching Matthew grow!

Triple the Fun!

July 20, 2009

I had a blast with Rosie, Collin and Joseph in their backyard last week.  These three tweens really know exactly how to make each other laugh.  We did some traditional poses -

Each of their personalities really came forward when I photographed them individually.

Collin did the most laughing -

Joseph is the organizer - getting his siblings to pose and telling them where they should stand.

And Rosie is adored by her brothers - she is definitely the Rose!

The next thing I did was ask each of them to pick a pose of their own - we had a lot of laughs!

Triple the fun for sure!

James on the Move

July 17, 2009

I learned early on in my photography career that often the best images of young children are one of the very first taken.  This proved true with James.

I think all three images here were taken within the first few minutes.  He was adorable in the chair sitting like a big boy.

James has beautiful eyes!

Once he figured out that we could get up and down himself, my workout began.  What an adorable boy!

Family Gathering

July 17, 2009

I always like to commend families when they can pull it all together for a nice photograph.  It’s hard enough getting everyone to say yes, add a little possible thunderstorm and some very rambunctious but later lovable dogs and we had my most recent family photo.

Pat and Jed have a beautiful back yard which set the scene.  Don’t you think the dogs are smiling?  I had the opportunity to photograph the whole family and then each individual family.  Here they are -

I love this next image of Emma.  She was so shy when I arrived and by the end - our game of “give me five” gave her the giggles!

Mission accomplished - later that night - we finally got the rain!

Anna & Brady

July 13, 2009

I met the nicest family last week at my favorite park - Willowwood Arboretum.  Anna and Brady were adorable and so good about being photographed.

Brady has the most beautiful blue eyes.  He was excited because he was going to get ice cream when the finished.  He said he was having “Banilla”!!

This is Anna - always smiling.  I was so happy to capture this moment in her life with the missing front teeth.  You blink and the moment is gone.

They were so good at making each other laugh!

I loved this image because of her hands.  She’s really got the whole pose going on.  America’s next top model!!

It was amazing how many things are in bloom right now at Willowwood.  Just goes to show you what our town might look like without deer!

So nice meeting you Anna and Brady.

Happy Birthday America!

July 11, 2009

My first attempt at photographing fireworks was fun…it was hard to stop shooting.  You can get some pretty cool effects when you slow down the shutter speed.

Here are the sound effects….”KABOOM”!!

Just for Laughs

July 9, 2009

I’ve had a very fun few sessions with some very funny guys.  First, Comedian and Actor, Buddy FitzPatrick was referred to me by some friends from Habitat (thanks Lisa and Bob!).  The session started out as many do, lots of small talk and start shooting.  By the end - we were both laughing so hard!

Buddy is full of life and I can only image that his shows are really funny.  However, since I pride myself in being funny myself, I was challanged to make him laugh.  My first question was “so, what makes you laugh”.  And of course the answer was “Not much”.  Oh boy.

I wonder, was this the expression I got when I asked that?  So I had to start with my new favorite joke - A surefire way to find out who your best friend is?  Lock your wife and your dog in the trunk for two hours.  When you open the trunk, who is happy to see you?  That did get a laugh.  From there it was a piece of cake.

Buddy is know for his “clean” comedy - finding humor is everyday life.  Clips of his acting can be found on his agency website - www.omnipop.com.  For more information on Buddy’s schedule, visit www.buddyfitzpatrick.com.

Next, Buddy introduced me to Joe Moffa who is also represented by Omnipop.  Joe is straight out of the Sopranos, buy ironically has appeared in other TV Series, but not that one.

Joe’s answer to my same “What makes you laugh” was exactly the same…”not much”.  Must be the comedian montra.  He was a tougher nut to crack - already heard my “best friend” joke from above.

Joe made me laugh when he said anything.  He’s the first person I have ever known to use the phrase “Fuggetaboutit”  seriously.

In the end - wow, what a nice guy.  Once again I have to say, I love my job!  Joe, on the other hand is known for his “not so clean” comedy!!  For more information about Joe, go to www.omnipop.com.
