Congratulations to Alexa who made her first Holy Communion last week. It is such a special time for a child - a time when they really feel special. That came through in all of Alexa’s images.
I loved this image - especially in black and white. The look in her eyes is so intense.
And look how beautiful she looks outside with the sun shining and her flowers in her hand.
Beautiful girl on a beautiful day!
I love this age - and this time in a child’s life. They are dressed up and getting all the attention. And rightly so!!
Before I show you some of the adorable children I recently photographed, I have to first show off a photo of my dad that hangs in my home. It was “colorized” for those that remember that look. My favorite part is the bow on the arm. How cute is he??
Now on to my cuties! First is Patrick. He arrived prepared to think of something that made him smile. I loved that. Prepared even at 8…watch out!
His face just made me melt!
Next is my nephew Tom looking so dapper. I was amazed when he stood in front of me how I saw my brother. I don’t think I have ever seen it so clearly before.
Tom is a natural. He was born on Earth Day and I think I felt peace coming from him. Below is Tom’s signature shot. He had the unique ability at a very young age to wink. The ability has gotten him many extra chocolate chip cookies over the years.
Next was Allie - beautiful in her veil and gorgeous dress.
Outside is where Allie really opened up and showed me her personality. I absolutely love this shot - especially her feet!
Here we had the wind blowing her veil to make a beautiful image. Look at that beautiful image. I am definitely not revealing what was said to make her smile!!
Chris is excited about receiving his First Holy Communion in June. It is; however, often painful for boys to go through the process of dressing up and coming in for portraits. There are a million places that would rather be. Chris was great!
He is a handsome boy and really looks so grown up the images. I love to show boys the image that I have of my Dad’s First Holy Communion on the wall in my living room. He is wearing a big bow around his neck and another one around his arm. I tell the boys - see - we could have you wearing that!!
I love this image in black & white - such a natural smile! Lastly - here is how Chris really felt!!
Good luck Chris! Have a wonderful and peaceful day.
Kyra came in for her communion portrait and I was immediately drawn to her beautiful blue eyes and sweet disposition. She was chatty and so polite. She changed into her dress and had the confidence that most of us wish we had!
Kyra was a natural in front of the camera - taking direction with ease and adding her own flare.
I showed Kyra a photo that I have hanging on my wall in my living room of my dad during his First Holy Communion. These images reminded me of classic photos that will hopefully last generations.
As you can see, I had a hard time deciding what to post because there were so many really nice images of her. Her I converted to black & white - I love the way the light hits her very cute up-do.
The last thing I did was take down the background and photograph Kyra in natural light using the famous painting in my living room as the background. I thought it was beautiful framing her face.
How nice it was to meet Kyra - I look forward to watching her grow.
