I had a fantastic day last Sunday on the boardwalk in Asbury Park photographing Morgan and Dave’s engagement portraits. Everything was perfect, the weather, the location and mostly the couple. What I noticed about Morgan and Dave was not the way they were when I was pointing the camera at them, but the way they were when I wasn’t. They are so kind to each other. Very kind.
I had so many fantastic shots that I created a video to show the work. Click on the arrow below. Sit back and enjoy. Oh - may want to grab a few tissues before sitting back!
I realized when I arrived to photograph Matthew and Cara that I had been photographing Matthew since he was Cara’s age. Now Cara is at that critical age I talk about - sitting, but now crawling.
Matthew is such a cute big brother. He was so excited to see me - still loves to have his photo taken. Cara sat like an angel.
Here is my beautiful boy - posing for me any way he can - gave me great funny faces and just showed me that although I was there also to see his sister…I was there for him!!
Cara has an adorable china-doll face. Her Mom and Dad warned me that she is fussy - doesn’t smile a lot.
OK. Not true for me. She was all smiles, sitting up and proving her parent’s wrong. Just wait until she becomes a teenager!!
I couldn’t believe it has been almost a year since I photographed this adorable sisters. One of my favorite things to do when I photograph sisters is to show them the photos I have around my house of my sister and I when we were young.
Kelsey is getting that confident look that I think I didn’t get until I was much older.
And Emma’s award winning smile…I can’t believe how much they have changed in a year!
Lots of laughing to get this shot. A favorite time when I am shooting!
This is the end of the shoot when I say to the girls - OK - give me some attitude. Very cute!
Would you want to go back to high school? I would - but only if it was for my Senior year…and only armed with the knowledge and wisdom that I have today!
Christina will be a Senior this year….and she shines. Her smile took over the park as we photographed her.
Christina has one of my favorite personalities - or character traits - someone whose insides match their outsides.
Christina and I loved working on this shot - we both loved her reflection in the window. Love it!
Beautiful girl! Can’t wait to watch her soar!
Happy New Year to All! As I sit here, 10 days into 2010, I am so happy to have met so many children, families, pets and professionals. I was also happy to photograph some of my longtime friends and family. Sit back and enjoy my Year in Review. Can you find yourself?
Thank goodness for our mild November days! I met the Caserta family at Willowwood yesterday for a surprisingly warm day where the sun was shining and the smiles were plenty. It is great how a day like that puts everyone in a great mood.
I love this little area we found - the stone building with the whitewashed windows and ivy made a perfect background. Below are several images of the family.
I love the warm colors in front of this tree - it may possibly be the last tree in New Jersey to still have it’s leaves!
Here are Heather and Kristin looking so beautiful.
And here they are with a little “tude”…
It was so nice meeting everyone - and fun to spend a beautiful day outside!
On Saturday, I visited the biggest Penn State fans I know…it happens to be my brother’s house! His wife Amy’s whole family are diehard fans. The first image was the whole family all geared up for the game.
I think my nephew’s first words were Nitney Lion, not Mommy and Daddy. Here are more family shots -
Amy’s Mom and Dad, Chuck & Enid.
My handsome brother Andy and his beautiful wife, Amy. Is my brother looking more like Mike Huckabee as he gets older??
This is Amy’s brother Charlie, wife Tanya and 2 adorable kids - Mia and Trey.
I love how Trey looks in this shot. This is the moment where I say to the kids “Look right into the camera” and then lean all the way forward to look into the camera - exactly what I told them to do!
Mia looked adorable in her little vest - and did a great job modeling for me! I was laughing when we was sticking her tongue through the spaces in her new “big girl” teeth!
And finally - my nephews, Joe, Tom and JP who were so excited to have their photo taken with their new puppy Brewster.
Brewster almost looks like a muppet in this image! I think they all smiled perfectly!
It was great to see the difference a year made for Michael, Nicholas and Julia. They are just the right about of polite, yet playful siblings that (seem to?) enjoy being photographed!
I think the stone background was my favorite, but we tried a few other things also.
I need to call this image “we love our Mom” because whatever she was doing, she got some very genuine smiles from them!
I loved Julia’s boots and skirt together and was so happy when she sat down on the step. How cute is that?
Nicholas literally wanted to be IN the bushes for his individual shots. He looks so natural though. It worked!
And lastly, here is Michael. The serious oldest child looking very grown up in this shot. So good to see you all again!
I always forget how much I love the light this time of year until I have a day like I had with the Bryne & Bell families photographing the “cousins”.
It is a golden light. I love this first image because each of them is enveloped by the light.
Thank God for Dad (or Uncle Pat) for keeping the party going. Not exactly sure what was going on behind my head, but whatever it was, it worked!
In this next image, it was so cool to see their relection!
Boys will be boys? Thank goodness no one landed in the water!
A magical day for all!
